Our Approach
“When we invest wisely in children and families, the next generation will pay that back through a lifetime of productivity and responsible citizenship.”

Critical 7 Approach
At The Laurel School, we understand how crucial the first 7 years of a child’s life is when it comes to brain development and growth. A child’s brain structure is built over time, through the experiences and environments in which the child interacts with. With positive interactions between the staff, child and family, as well as a beautiful, loving environment where children are valued, welcomed and challenged academically, this creates the right foundation for a child to thrive. Our goal is to create a child that is able to interact positively and succeed academically, for a thriving and productive future.
Our Critical 7 Approach focuses on:
Skill development, where children learn new skills, building on previous skills over time to create mastery
Developing a sturdy brain structure through a positive and enhanced early learning environment
Focusing closely on social and emotional competence within the environment, to develop individualistic character development
A balanced “whole child” approach which allows children to freely interact with the world around them and learn in an academic setting as well
An enriched program designed to build a strong foundation through individualized academic learning
